Install or Upgrade Incorta Analytics

Start here to install Incorta.

Things to Consider

To install Incorta, consider:

  • The number of servers you need. You can install Incorta using one server (single-node, also known as a “Typical” installation) or two or more servers (multi-node, also known as a “Custom” installation). For more about installing Incorta on one server, see Single-node Installations. For more about installing incorta on two or more servers, see Multi-node Installation.
  • If you meet all the requirements. See Installation Requirements.
  • Whether you want to use a different version of the following bundled tools (not recommended):

    • Zookeeper
    • Spark
  • Whether you want to use one or more of the following optional tools:

    • Apache
    • Tomcat

Installation Process

Install Incorta on one or more nodes. You perform almost the same installation procedure on each node, then, in the Cluster Management Console (CMC) set up services, set up a cluster (for multi-node installation), and set up a tenant.

Connect and tweak features in Incorta by configuring Spark. For information on how Spark and Incorta work together, see the Spark Guide.

Concepts in Incorta Installation

Incorta uses the following terms in specific ways during the installation process:

  • Cluster Management Console (CMC). An application bundled with Incorta Analytics used to manage nodes, clusters, services, and tenants.
  • Analytics Service. Manages the Incorta UI, processes queries sent from Incorta, and manages report schedules and data and image exports.
  • Loader Service. Manages data loading activities, creates parquet files, and creates materializaed views.
  • Incorta Node. A physical or virtual server on which you install at least one Incorta service (analytics or loader service). During installation, you log into a server, install Incorta, and identify which services the server hosts. You can set up HTTP ports, heap size, email configurations, Spark settings, and administrator credentials on an Incorta node.
  • Incorta Node Agent. A lightweight process that manages the communication between the CMC and an Incorta node. Each node connects to only one node agent.
  • Incorta Cluster. A virtual container of Incorta services. You identify which services reside within a cluster, and you create one or more tenants inside a cluster.
  • Incorta Tenant. An instance of Incorta Analytics to which you log in from a browser.
